This capability has been spotted in early builds and is now moving <em>closer to public rollout<\/em>, showing signs of a fully functional search UI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Right now Wallet can hold a <em>lot<\/em> of items \u2014 from credit\/debit cards to boarding passes and tickets \u2014 but navigating this growing list has been clunky. Adding search solves that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What the Search Feature Will Do<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Early previews reveal several important things:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A <strong>search icon<\/strong> (magnifying glass) appears at the top of the Wallet app.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tapping it brings up recent searches and <strong>suggested items<\/strong> you might want to find again.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You\u2019ll soon be able to search <strong>across everything stored in Wallet<\/strong> \u2014 including cards, loyalty and gift passes, IDs, and (soon) transaction history.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Since Google is also rolling out <strong>unified transaction history<\/strong>, search could extend to finding past payments by merchant name or card.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Right now, Wallet only shows a few recent transactions per card, but the new search feature pairs with an upcoming <strong>transaction history overhaul<\/strong> that will let you view more than just the latest buys.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why It Matters<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This update tackles one of Wallet\u2019s biggest usability gaps: <strong>finding specific items fast<\/strong>. Once search rolls out:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You won\u2019t have to scroll through endless lists of cards and passes to find what you need.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You could search for a <em>specific past transaction<\/em> by name or date without hunting through each card\u2019s activity.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Wallet becomes a more powerful <strong>central hub<\/strong> for both your digital payments and digital documents, not just a place to tap and pay.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">When You\u2019ll Get It<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The search feature <strong>isn\u2019t fully public yet<\/strong> \u2014 it\u2019s showing up in early preview versions and test builds of the Wallet app \u2014 but the level of completion suggests Google may begin rolling it out more broadly <em>soon<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>Google Wallet is evolving from a simple tap-to-pay interface to a more complete <strong>digital wallet and organizer<\/strong>, and the upcoming <strong>search feature<\/strong> is a key part of that transition.
